MOLD TESTING & INSPECTION

Mold is common in homes and buildings regardless of location. Mold grows easily on paper products, ceiling tiles and wood, but it can also grow on paint, dust, insulation, wallpaper and carpet, among other materials. This means that a proper mold assessment needs to be thorough to ensure any potential problem areas are found and remedied. When it comes to mold inspections, it’s important to work with a professional team that understands how buildings work – including where they leak and what conditions create an ideal environment for mold growth. Even if you can see mold and already know that it is present, mold inspections are still recommended to ensure the problem hasn’t spread to other areas of your home. Mold assessments can also help find the root of the problem, which will need to be identified and fixed to prevent recurring mold growth

ASBESTOS TESTING AND INSPECTION

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral composed of thin, tightly packed fibers. Due to its strength, asbestos used to be commonly used in the manufacturing of insulation, fireproofing, and other construction materials. Unfortunately, asbestos has been found to pose a serious health risk when its fibers become loose and airborne, since breathing them in can cause scarring of the tissue lining the lungs (mesothelioma) and even lung cancer. You can check for signs of asbestos on your own, but testing should be done by a certified professional using special equipment. If asbestos is present, hire a contractor to repair or remove the materials that contain it to ensure the safety of people using the building.

INDOOR AIR QUALITY (IAQ) TESTING

Indoor air quality (IAQ) is something most of us don't think about until it's a problem. Understanding indoor air quality and its risks can help protect you from serious problems. Indoor Air Quality is a term used to define the level or amount of air pollution that exists inside a house or building, especially occupied areas or rooms. Concentrations of air pollutants can be up to 200 times higher indoors than outdoors and the American Lung Association approximates that most people spend 90% of their time indoors. Think about the fact that you breathe an estimated 3,000 gallons of air daily. Indoor air quality is the air quality within and around buildings and structures. IAQ is known to affect the health, comfort and well-being of occupants. Elevated indoor air quality has been linked to sick building syndrome, reduced productivity and impaired learning in schools or the workplace.

SEWAGE / BACTERIA TESTING AND INSPECTION

Sewage and wastewater contain bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses that can cause intestinal, lung, and other infections. Bacteria may cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite. Some bacteria and diseases carried by sewage and wastewater are E. coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera.

SILICA TESTING AND INSPECTION

Millions of U.S. workers are exposed to respirable crystalline silica, also known as silica dust, in a variety of industries, including construction, mining, oil and gas extraction, stone countertop fabrication, foundries and other manufacturing settings. Silica dust is made up of small particles that become airborne during various work activities including cutting, drilling, chipping, sanding, or grinding materials that contain crystalline silica. These materials can include sand, concrete, brick, block, stone, and mortar.

RADON TESTING AND INSPECTION

Radon is a radioactive gas that has been found in homes all over the United States. It comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water, and gets into the air you breathe. Radon has been found in all 50 states and poses a risk in all regions. Radon typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation or through well water, becoming trapped in your home. Any home can have a radon problem, including new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.

soot testing

Soot, Char, and Ash damage can occur on your property following a fire related incident. This is true whether the damage occurred inside of the property or the exterior. Small, potentially hazardous particles can enter your home from many entry points, settling on all types of surfaces. Larger particles of Soot, Char, and Ash can make their way into your property from your surrounding environment, clothing, and even your pets. These particles might adversely impact your health and contain other particles that may cause damage to your property.
